Located in the Heart Land of Australia known as The Channel Country. Their farmers raise Organic Certified Hereford beef on rangeland that has never been exposed to modern day chemicals. Why is this important?

Unlike much of Australia’s agricultural land that has been exposed to modern day synthetic chemicals at some point over the past 80 years. These chemicals take a long time to break down especially PFAS which scientists are now calling ‘For Ever Chemicals’ (meaning they don’t break down) which can be found in some agricultural fertilisers, herbicides and insecticides, that have been used on Australia’s farm land for decades.

OBE farms rangeland is vast country that due to impracticality has never been exposed to such chemicals from agricultural inputs. Only now are we finding out that this is great news! As PFAS chemicals are beginning to show up in our food.

Not only is OBE possibly the purist beef in the world. OBE farms are stewarded in a way that regenerates their range land landscape. Their farmers incorporate careful land management practices to promote over 250 native grass species, with 3rd party auditing to ensure the correct stocking densities so over grazing doesn’t occur.

It’s a different landscape than our own green rolling hills at Caluga and some of the management is done a little differently however the principles and the philosophies are the same. Promote healthy soil and environment through the use of large herbivores in a carefully managed system that allows the livestock to live their absolute best life possible, and provide the most nutrient dense food on the planet.

The Channel Country is characterised by inland flowing river systems and open range land. Although it can look very dry at certain times of the year it is ideal country for raising cattle. This dryer climate, rich in minerals infuses the meat with a richer nutrient profile and flavour. Additionally there are fewer parasites present allowing the cattle to remain healthy without synthetic intervention.
